Size and fit

Most of what we make is cut boxy. Measuring a piece you already own beats guessing.

The most reliable way to size a boxy cut is to lay a garment you already wear flat, measure it, and compare. Body measurements tell you less, because the whole point of the cut is the room in it.

How to measure a flat garment

Lay it flat, buttoned or zipped, and smooth it out without stretching.

  • Chest — armpit to armpit, across the front. Double it for the full circumference.
  • Length — highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
  • Shoulder — seam to seam across the back.
  • Sleeve — shoulder seam to cuff.
  • Waist — across the top of the waistband, doubled.
  • Inseam — crotch seam to hem, along the inside leg.
